Army managementYou are the general. You have full control over the army composition. Based on your successes and reputation you might get access to more corps, divisions and brigades. Keep your soldiers alive and they will learn to fight better, turning from green rookies to crack veterans. Lose a lot of your soldiers and you might not have enough reinforcements to deliver victories. Your reputation will suffer, army morale will drop and you will be forced to resign. Officer progressionHistorical unit commanders progress and become better fighters together with the player. The Officers rank up based on their units’ performance, but it's war and they can be wounded or even get killed in action. New ranks open new possibilities and allow officers to lead bigger units without efficiency loss. Winning battles also opens new possibilities for you as a general, increasing skills such as reconnaissance or political influence. Historical weaponsThere is huge variety of Civil War weaponry, from mass produced Enfield pattern rifles to rare Whitworths. Historical availability has also been implemented. Certain weapons can only be captured by raiding supplies or taken from the enemy on the battlefield. Innovative command systemYou decide which level of control you want. Command every unit individually or just give them a main goal with one button click and watch if they can take that hill. Army divisions commanders can make decisions on their own and help you control the largest army. Draw a defensive line and allocated brigades will defend it like lions. Or design a deep flanking maneuver by just drawing an arrow and send the whole army to the enemy flank or the rear. Your generals will try to fulfill your orders, although 'no plan survives contact with the enemy'. Enhanced unit controlDetach skirmishers to send them to scout those hills ahead. Or merge several brigades into one bigger division, if it’s needed. Dismount the cavalry to become less visible to the enemy or mount for fast flanking charges and supply raids. Supplies are extremely important and you have to plan and defend the provisions otherwise the battle might end for you early. Advanced Artificial IntelligenceYou will face a strong enemy. AI will flank you, will hit your weak spots and undefended high ground, will chase and cut your supplies and will try to destroy unguarded artillery batteries. AI will use terrain and will take cover and retreat if overwhelmed. Terrain mattersTrenches, lines, fences, houses, fields – everything can help to achieve victory, if you know how to use it. Hills will allow you to see enemy units earlier. Rivers and bridges can become natural obstacles that will help you to defend. Forests can help you hide your movements and flank the enemy. Beautiful mapsWe believe that modern technology allows hardcore war-games to finally stop being brown on green hexes. Hardcore, deep war games can be beautiful. In our game, every historical battle landscape is accurately hand-drawn, utilizing data from satellite and historical maps. The topography plays immense strategic role and helps to understand how battles were fought and to learn history. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, I am ArmoredSpearhead (Yes named on the Doctrine), a noob in Coding in General, but know my way around. I want to create a US Civil War Mod based in 1861. As you are probably imagining this involves a whole ton more stuff than most mods out there, as it involves changing Vanilla quite the lot.So what exactly do I want to make you may ask, well I want to make several changes to the base game most notably a change to the Map (Only if it's a viable option), and if possible (I highly believe unlikely) to remove everything related to the aircraft, but trying to keep it plausible and accomplishable at all times. Well the way I see it is that you get thrown right in the mix of it, the southern states have already seceded (the ones before Sumter). The concept I have in place is the Political scenario between Lincolns inauguration and the firing on Sumter, with all the Slave States and their dilemma of either remaining in the Union or join the Confederacy, and both the Union and Confederates have to make sure they get key states, the South needs Virginia because if they don't have it they will lose the war in a small amount of time, the Union needs Maryland and Delaware or they face DC been cut off. The idea is that you have this focuses that make it so that when the war does begin, they will join your side.(This took too much time to write I will admit, hey if you want to learn coding just pm). Hoi4 Civil War Mod Mount And BladeI love the idea of it, I think it would be an awesome mod. A while back I read a book series by Harry Turtledove called the Southern Victory series, it follows the events of a victory by the south in the civil war and them seceding from the union, the books go on into the world war periods and these new events affect history pretty significantly. Hoi4 Russian Civil War ModI think if you wanted some ideas about it you could use that for both confederate and union ideas if the war goes in the confederate favour. One example I can think of is in the book after General Lee's Army of Northern Virginia has great success during his drive north through Pennsylvania the United States is pressured by the United Kingdom and France to acknowledge the confederate secession from the union or else the two countries would join the war against the US.
